Artist-made pigmented abaca paper pulp with copper wire, cast from asphalt parking lot cracks; Single channel video, run time 04:45 —presented in a working freight elevator for two hours. Ephemeral Echoes features fragments of sunlight filtered through trees and windows, inside and outside–a collection of moments spanning a few years, with many from this past spring. The suspended castings record cracks in the parking lot outside the artist’s studio—with dirt and leaves still clinging to the fiber—including the edge of a pothole that has since been paved over.
